Carol Hopper studied Interior Design through the New York School of Interior Design, and Fine Arts under the tutelage of professional artists in New Mexico. She has also studied nationally with Eric Michaels, Ned Mueller, Lois Griffel, Ramon Kelley, Ken Auster and Carolyn Anderson. Carol is an award winning artist whose work may be seen at Weems Art galleries in Albuquerque and Chumani Gallery in Madrid, NM. Carol is a member of the Rio Grande Artists Association and Oil Painters of America.
Though she paints a variety of subjects, Ms. Hopper has a primary interest in painting cityscapes and landscapes that include buildings or some other human elements. Working exclusively in oil, she depicts the villages, cities, and buildings and other historical sights of New Mexico, California, and North Carolina, all locations in which Ms. Hopper lives or has family. Ms. Hopper particularly enjoys painting quaint European and Mexican towns.
Ms. Hopper’s interest in art began as a young child under the direction of her creative mother. Her first art project was “Paint By Number” which she thought so beautiful she continued exploring art in its many forms.
