The colors in JoAnne's art reflect her love of the southwest. She is a native New Mexican. Since 1981, her residence has been on the east side of the Sandia Mountains in Cedar Crest along the Turquoise Trail. She has studied art with numerous recognized artists from all over the United States.
She is a signature member of the NM Watercolor Society and the Pastel Society of NM.
JoAnne received first place in pastels at 2007 Expo NM fine arts show at the state fair. In Masterworks of New Mexico; Best of show for miniatures in 2000,first place for pastels in 2003 and third place in pastels in 2007. At the Bardean Gallery miniature show in 1998, she received first place for water media. She has received numerous other awards for her art.
