Joyce is a member of the Southwest Stone Carvers Assoc. and the New Mexico Sculptors Guild. She moved to NM 2 yrs ago after making the decision to retire from her practice of psychotherapy in Calif. She felt strongly that it was time for her to act on the need to blend her knowledge of psychology with theways to observe and appreciate the world through her artist training. She studied sculpture at the Brentwood Art Institute and Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Her Inspiration and ideas come from the merging of observing human nature and appreciating the qualities and nature of stone. She creates figurative forms in alabaster, marble, limestone and calcite. She has won blur ribbons in juried competition. Her work was shown in Calif and is currently shown in NM.
